Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have carried out numerous attacks on civilian energy infrastructure in a number of Ukrainian regions, which led to serious disruptions in electricity supply. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The shelling affected Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.
Dnipropetrovsk region: The attacks resulted in two power outages at a substation, residential consumers, and a water utility. In addition, another substation supplying electricity to the railway was damaged, but there were no disruptions to train operations. Power was restored using a backup scheme.
Sumy region: Shelling of an overhead line resulted in a power outage at a substation and residential consumers in Kharkiv region. Power was restored using a backup scheme.
Poltava region: During the air alarm, an overhead line was disconnected, which led to a power outage for consumers. Power has been restored.
Chernihiv region: As a result of shelling, overhead lines were disconnected, which caused a power outage for 947 subscribers in 15 settlements.
Donetsk region: During the shelling of the territory of one of the mines, equipment was damaged. There were no people in the mine at the time of the incident. One person was provided with medical assistance.
