The family of Anatoly Komar, head of the Energy Customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, is building a luxurious mansion near Kyiv, the cost of which experts estimate at over 70 million hryvnias. This was reported by investigative journalists who analyzed the property status of the official and his closest relatives.
Despite the fact that Komar's official salary is about 90 thousand hryvnias per month, his family owns significant assets. In particular, in 2021, the official declared apartments in the "Boulevard Fontaniv" residential complex in the center of Kyiv, which cost at least 3.7 million hryvnias.
Another place of residence for the family is a new building on the banks of the Dnieper River, registered in the name of the father-in-law of the official Serhiy Gladkov. He also has a plot of land registered in the village of Vyshenki, where a 450-square-meter estate is currently being built. According to experts, such construction costs more than 1.5 million US dollars.
Special attention is drawn to the car used by Komar — a 2018 Mercedes S-class. According to the documents, the official allegedly rents it for 15 thousand hryvnias per month, although the market value of such a lease is several times higher.
Journalists also found out that Komar's daughter studied at a private school in Cyprus, and is now a student at the prestigious King's College in London. The annual cost of studying at this institution exceeds 1.5 million hryvnias. The official himself explained that the child's godfather took on the payment, but the family's other sources of financing were not disclosed.
At the same time, no criminal proceedings have been opened regarding Komar's possible illegal enrichment.
