A Russian missile strike seriously damaged the production facilities of Yofi!, one of the largest Ukrainian hummus producers, the company's press service reported. Employees managed to evacuate about 20 minutes before the strike, and there were no casualties.
The missile hit the production workshop of the plant in Kyiv — the equipment and part of the building suffered significant damage, resulting in a fire. Firefighters worked on the spot, photos of the destroyed plant and extinguishing were published on the company's Instagram. According to Yofi!, the work of three modern packaging and production lines was stopped — the lines were installed by Ukrainian, Italian and Israeli manufacturers.
The area of the production complex is about 2,000 m²; before the attack, the company produced up to 1,200 tons of products per year and controlled approximately 70% of the Ukrainian hummus market, supplying goods to supermarkets, restaurants, and coffee shops throughout the country.
The company announced a temporary suspension of product deliveries for at least a month; only a small amount of finished goods remained in warehouses. Management said it would do everything possible to resume production after the effects of the attack were eliminated.
The damage is still estimated to be significant: production equipment and infrastructure have been destroyed, which will affect jobs, tax revenues and food security. The attack on a civilian enterprise once again highlights the devastating impact of the shelling on the country's economic infrastructure.
