Ukrainian writer and screenwriter Olga Navrotska has spoken publicly and openly about her attitude towards motherhood for the first time. The 51-year-old wife of musician Fagot admitted that she does not plan to have children and has consciously chosen the childfree path for herself.
In an interview with Ramini Eshakzai, Navrotskaya explained that her position was formed over the years and finally strengthened against the backdrop of war and general instability in the world. According to her, she is not ready to take responsibility for a new life in conditions where the future seems too dangerous and unpredictable.
The writer emphasized that she is aware of all the joys of life, but at the same time considers it cruel and painful. That is why she is not ready to consciously bring a child into a world where happiness often borders on tragedy and loss.
Navrotskaya admitted that if she were confident in a safe future and the end of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, she might consider motherhood. However, at the moment, there is no such feeling of confidence.
She also noted that she never dreamed of having children and always subconsciously felt like a person who would have a better path without motherhood. At the same time, Navrotskaya has great respect for women who give birth and raise children, calling them "goddesses."
The writer emphasized that she never perceived the absence of children as a flaw or an inner emptiness. She finds fulfillment in her work, which she symbolically calls her children.
At the same time, it is known that Fagot has a son, Nikita, from a previous relationship. The musician divorced his mother while the woman was pregnant. At the end of November this year, Fagot was spotted with another girl, which gave rise to rumors about possible problems in his relationship with Olga Navrotskaya, but there were no official comments from the couple on this matter.
