In the city of Brovary, Kyiv region, law enforcement officers detained the first deputy head of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office, Oleksiy Khymynets, on suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit in the amount of 50 thousand US dollars.
According to the investigation, the official demanded money from the entrepreneur for "resolving the issue" related to the possible seizure of land plots. This is about influencing procedural decisions within the framework of criminal proceedings.
The arrest took place directly during the transfer of funds in Brovary. Law enforcement officers are currently conducting investigative actions and documenting the circumstances of the crime.
Oleksiy Khymynets is a native of the Transcarpathian region. Before his appointment to the Kyiv region, he worked in the Transcarpathian prosecutor's office, after which he was transferred to the position of deputy head of the Brovary district prosecutor's office.
Another prosecutor, Yuriy Dash, who served as the procedural manager, appears in the same criminal proceedings. According to available information, he previously worked in the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office and was later transferred to Brovary.
The investigation is investigating the possible involvement of both officials in the scheme to obtain illegal benefits. Law enforcement officers are establishing the role of each of the defendants and the circumstances of the transfer of funds.
The issue of choosing preventive measures is currently being resolved. If proven guilty, the suspects face criminal liability for corruption crimes.
