On Thursday, November 20, the former head of the Rubizhna MVA, Andriy Yurchenko, was released from custody on bail. This was reported by Yurchenko's lawyer, Oleksandr Tananakin. According to him, the amount of bail was reduced because the previous amount was exorbitant for the suspect. As a result, 2 million hryvnias were deposited, part of which Yurchenko paid with his own funds, and part - borrowed from friends.
Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court reduced the bail for Yurchenko three times from 6 to 2 million hryvnias. The investigation concerns the possible receipt of illegal benefits during the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and electronic warfare (EW) equipment for the Ukrainian military. According to the NABU and SAPO, the former head of the Luhansk OVA, a current MP, a commander of a military unit, and the owner of a drone manufacturing company may be involved in these transactions.
The defense insists on Yurchenko's non-involvement in the commission of the crime and the absence of elements of the incriminated criminal offense.
