The medical laboratory network “Eskulab”, which has long been associated with quality and stability, is now forced to overcome the consequences of a management crisis. At the center of the scandal is its former CEO and co-owner Serhiy Dyadyushko. According to the Lviv region police, in January 2024, criminal proceedings were opened on suspicion of embezzlement of more than 20 million hryvnias. The investigation believes that the funds were withdrawn from the company through fictitious contracts with individual entrepreneurs who did not actually perform any work.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Empropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position on a particularly large scale.”.
The period covered by the investigation coincides with a phase of deep internal crisis in the network: debts were accumulating in the Kyiv division of Esculab-Center, salary payments were delayed, and individual laboratories temporarily ceased operations. The company's financial performance deteriorated sharply.
A journalistic investigation by StopKor indicates that it was Serhiy Dyadyushka’s decisions and actions that brought the company to the brink of collapse. Only after his removal was it possible to begin stabilization. The new management team conducted an audit, paid the outstanding salaries, and stopped the further decline.
Despite this, part of the company's assets, according to the editorial team's sources, may still be under the control of Dyadyushka — which creates risks for the reputation and sustainable development of Esculab in the future.
The person involved in the proceedings himself is not publicly commenting on the situation. And the company is refraining from official statements, citing the ongoing investigation.
Amidst the increased public attention to medical services, the “Aesculab” case may become indicative — both in terms of accountability for abuse and in the context of the importance of transparent governance in socially sensitive areas.
