Former head of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, Oleksiy Kud, who was involved in the bribery case for "covering" the drug trade, plans to get a job at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
In his declaration, Kud listed an apartment in Kherson, a rented apartment in Mykolaiv, and a plot of land in the Mykolaiv region. Last year, he also purchased a 2011 Volvo XC60. During his service in the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, Kud declared income of 1.41 million hryvnias and holds 25 thousand dollars in cash. His wife Kateryna has 6.5 thousand euros in cash and 159 thousand hryvnias in bank accounts.
Kud previously headed the procedural management department for the conduct of pre-trial investigations by territorial police bodies and ensuring the maintenance of public prosecution. Information about his dismissal appeared on July 31; at the same time it became known that money was found on him during the investigative actions, but there was no public data about his detention.
At the end of July, employees of the central office of the State Bureau of Internal Affairs together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a special operation in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. According to the investigation, during the operation, they documented the criminal activities of law enforcement officers and conducted six searches at the premises of employees of the Strategic Investigations Department of the Main Police Department in the Kherson region, the Investigation Department of the Main Police Department, and the regional prosecutor's office.
The investigation qualifies the group as organized, operating for a long time. During the searches, law enforcement officers were looking for money that was allegedly part of a bribe. Among the people who were searched was Chermen Teimurazov, head of the investigative department of the Main Police Department; according to the investigation, no money was found on him, but he appears in the materials of telephone interceptions and other secret search operations. Akhmetov, Palienko, and Nikitenko were detained as part of the operation. It is also known about the search of the operational officer of the National Police Department in the Kherson region, Maksym Shevchenko.
