Law enforcement officers have announced suspicion against the former director of the Department of Civil Defense and Defense Work of the Kherson Regional Military Administration in a case of embezzlement of public funds. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the suspect purchased clothing for the Territorial Defense Forces with losses exceeding UAH 18.7 million.
“According to the investigation, in November-December 2022, the suspect concluded an agreement with the LLC for the purchase of winter clothing sets for the Territorial Defense Forces units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he accepted winter hats, jackets, pants, and gloves without quality certificates. They did not meet the technical requirements approved by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” the message on the Telegram channel says.
As a result of the former director's improper performance of his official duties, the state suffered losses totaling over UAH 18.7 million.
He was notified of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
