Theirworld has announced its support for a number of educational projects in Ukraine, the largest of which is a mathematics museum in Kyiv. The project will cost £5 million.
The new museum will feature more than 120 exhibits spread across six themed areas, and will also include an “innovation lab” to train math teachers across the country, with the goal of reaching 300,000 students each year.
The museum is scheduled to open at the end of this year, and it will begin its activities with a tour aimed at helping children not only in Kyiv, but also in rural and remote regions.
Theirworld also plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on a national initiative on education and child development to support young schoolchildren in the crucial first eight years of their lives, when 90% of their brains develop. Their support package will include providing war-affected students and teachers with access to digital devices for learning and teaching remotely.
Theirworld is a children's charity dedicated to overcoming the global education crisis and unlocking the potential of the younger generation. During the war in Ukraine and neighboring countries, the organization has already helped distribute over 70,000 laptops to students and teachers through partnerships with HP, Microsoft, and the First Lady Olena Zelenska Foundation.
