The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate an additional 5 billion hryvnias from the state budget reserve fund for the implementation of the Winter eSupport program. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram, noting that these funds will allow for the fulfillment of all submitted applications for assistance so that Ukrainians can receive financial support.
According to him, the money can be spent on utilities, medical, educational and other services. At the same time, the government has improved the mechanism for paying funds to elderly people over 60 years old, people with disabilities of groups I and II, as well as to disabled people who receive pensions or social assistance through banking institutions. They will receive one thousand hryvnias through Ukrposhta.
In addition, the government simplified the algorithm for exchanging information between institutions implementing the program, which will allow for better informing citizens and summarizing data.
The Winter eSupport program provides a one-time payment of one thousand hryvnias to all citizens of Ukraine who are in its territory. The funds can be spent on a limited list of goods and services, including medicines, utility bills, mobile top-ups, sports events, and even donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Applications for assistance can be submitted until the end of February 2025, and expenses can be made until the end of the same year.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov also shared statistics on spending, in particular, on the purchase of books, noting that Ukrainians have already purchased books 75 thousand times through the Winter e-Support program.
