The Servant of the People faction expects that the new law on mobilization will be adopted in March, said MP Oleksiy Honcharenko. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the relevant draft law and sent it to the Verkhovna Rada.
A representative of the European Solidarity faction noted that the text of the draft law is not yet available, and promised to report on it as soon as it becomes known.
At the same time, Serhiy Nagornyak, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People faction, suggested that the new law on mobilization may not be adopted before March. According to him, the authorities are trying to choose the best solution from the available ones so that it is accepted by society, since, in his opinion, there are no longer any ideal options.
Nagornyak also stressed that the situation on the front currently allows for holding positions with existing brigades, but a number of formations are noticeably understaffed. According to him, mobilization is critically necessary to replenish existing brigades.
It should be noted that the government bill has drawn criticism from politicians and public activists. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets expressed his belief that it contradicts constitutional norms, in particular, in terms of increasing penalties for tax evaders. The Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy also identified corruption risks in the bill and recommended that it be revised. In this regard, the government decided to withdraw the bill for revision.
