After the Russian shelling on Saturday night, CHP-6, on which the heat supply of the Troyeshchyna residential area in Kyiv depends entirely, stopped working. The station is not supplying heat, and there are currently no technical possibilities to reconnect the area to other heat sources.
This was reported by the head of the Desnyan district state administration, Bakhmatov. According to him, the situation in the district is extremely difficult, and there are no clear explanations about the reasons for the station's shutdown and further actions.
"At the moment, CHP-6 is definitely not supplying heat carrier. They are trying to connect the forest massif to other heat sources, but there are no options for reconnection for the Troyeschyna region. We are not told what exactly happened, but we know that it happened after the last shelling - on Saturday night. The situation is really critical, and no one understands how to act," he said.
According to the head of the district, local authorities do not have information about the extent of the damage and the timing of the restoration of the thermal power plant. Due to the complete dependence of the Troyes region on CHP-6, the shutdown of the plant poses a serious threat to residential buildings and social infrastructure of the district in cold weather conditions.
