The head of the Department of Health of the Kyiv City State Administration, Valentina Ginzburg, has resigned, our sources close to the mayor report. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko signed the resignation letter, which the official submitted on September 13.
Ginzburg has headed the capital's medical system since October 2017 — for more than seven years. The Kyiv City State Administration has not officially commented on the reasons for her resignation and has not announced who will temporarily fulfill her duties.
Recall that in May 2025, a petition demanding the dismissal of Ginzburg appeared on the Kyiv City Council website, signed by doctors and patients of the capital's medical institutions; the mayor emphasized at the time that dismissal was possible only if there were legal grounds. Similar calls were voiced in 2019.
The change in the department's leadership may affect the implementation of key medical programs in the capital - financing hospitals, digitalization of the healthcare system, and preparation of medical facilities for the heating season.
