The head of the State Tax Service department in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Selezen, found himself in the spotlight due to a declaration that raises more questions than answers.
According to official documents, most of the property is registered in the name of his wife Natalia, who is listed as unemployed in the declaration. Back in 2011, she became the owner of an apartment in Kharkiv with an area of 67.8 m². She is also registered as the owner of 2 hectares of land in Ohiyivka, registered in 2021.
In 2023, Natalia Selezen bought a 2022 Toyota Highlander for UAH 1.8 million. And recently, she registered another car for herself - the details of which are being checked by journalists.
The taxman himself declared a 2016 Ford Mustang, purchased in 2024 for only UAH 149,000. The price is significantly lower than the market price, which may indicate an attempt to hide the real value.
The declaration also lists three land plots belonging to Selezny himself: 40,927 m², 2,500 m², and 6,007 m². In 2019, he acquired a house in the village of Ohiivka with an area of 75 m² for a symbolic 10,000 UAH.
Selezny's salary for the year was 630 thousand UAH, he received another 200 thousand UAH from the sale of movable property to Artem Kolyad. His wife indicated 798 thousand UAH received from Roman Odukalets, also for the sale of movable property.
The taxpayer declared 800 thousand UAH and 10 thousand dollars in cash.
In fact, most of the assets are registered to the wife, who has no official income. This is a classic scheme to mask the real wealth of an official, which may become the subject of an audit by the NACP and law enforcement agencies.
