Law enforcement agencies have reported suspicions against an official of the municipal enterprise "Road Operation Department of Solomyansky District" in Kyiv. This was reported based on materials from the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP), which identified signs of a corruption offense during monitoring of the enterprise's activities.
According to the NACP, city hall officials may have committed violations during the procurement of technical salt in 2023. It turned out that road salt was purchased from a private company at a significantly inflated price, which led to losses for the city budget of more than 2 million hryvnias.
The NACP materials became the basis for opening a pre-trial investigation. Investigators of the Dnipro Police Department of Kyiv, together with employees of the Strategic Investigations Department, confirmed the facts of the violations and charged the official with suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence.
The sanction of this article provides for up to five years of imprisonment with possible deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are identifying all those involved in the procurement scheme.
