The main contractor of “Great Construction” Yuriy Boyko was released from criminal liability

A court case that lasted for several months resulted in the acquittal of Yuriy Boyko, the director of one of the largest contractors in the “Large Construction” sector. The defendant was accused of forgery and tax evasion, but the court decided to acquit him.

The brother of the vice president of the National Association of Road Workers of Ukraine, Oleksandr Boyko, founder of Avtomagistral-Pivden and Shlyahovyk-97, which are among the largest contractors of the "Big Construction", was acquitted of criminal liability for forgery of documents and tax evasion.

This is reported by the channel of the International Detective Agency ABSOLUTION.

This is Yuriy Boyko, a member of the board of Avtomagistral-Pivden and director of Shlyahovyk-97. He was accused of including in December 2020 the amount of funds from financial and economic transactions with Promnafto Trade LLC and Visterion, which were not real in nature, in the VAT tax credit, and of deliberately evading payment of VAT for a total of UAH 30.88 million. Boyko was only suspected on December 6, 2023.

The investigation of the case lasted a long time, and then a day before the serving of the suspicion, his company "Shlyahovyk-97" paid the damages caused to the state (although the dollar-hryvnia exchange rate was no longer the same as in 2020). Subsequently, the court received a motion from the defendant's defense lawyer to release Boyko from criminal liability in connection with compensation for the damage.

The defense attorney also requested the release of the accused under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing a person to criminal liability, since as of January 19, 2024, 3 years had passed since the accused businessman committed a minor crime.

Prosecutor from the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office V.S. Polishchuk left the decision on this request to the court's discretion during the court session. Judge Kateryna Lagoda of the Primorsky District Court decided to grant the request and released the businessman from criminal liability, and closed the case itself.
