The head of the Uman District Police Department of the Cherkasy region, Oleksandr Gnedov, declared an apartment in the elite residential complex "Grekiv Lis" at an undervalue.
According to the declaration, on April 25, 2023, the police colonel purchased an apartment with an area of 61 sq. m in a new residential complex for 200 thousand UAH. However, at that time, the real market value of such housing was about 2 million UAH — approximately $ 900 per square meter at an exchange rate of 38 UAH / dollar. As of November 2025, a similar apartment without renovation in this complex already costs about 71 thousand dollars.
In addition, Gnedov declared the purchase of a non-residential premises with an area of 1.7 sq. m for 7 thousand UAH. In the residential complex "Grekiv Lis" there are actually no premises of such an area, so this may indicate either a technical error or manipulation in reporting.
For the year, Gnedov officially earned 696 thousand UAH. In addition, he received about 26 thousand UAH in subsidies and social payments. Despite this, the colonel keeps 600 thousand UAH in cash and 10 thousand dollars, and his wife has another 367 thousand UAH in cash. The family's total cash savings exceed 1.4 million UAH.
The family's property is scattered between Cherkasy, Odessa, and the occupied part of Donetsk region. Two apartments and a plot of land remained in Novy Svit and Maryanivka. Gnedov's wife owns an apartment of 78 sq. m in Chornomorsk.
The family's only car, a 2019 Toyota Corolla, is registered to his wife, but the police chief himself has the right to use it.
Gnedov himself is registered in Chornomorsk, but actually lives in Uman, where he heads the district police department. His wife and two children also remain registered at an address in the Odessa region.
Data on the underestimation of the value of real estate may indicate the unreliability of the information in the declaration - sanctions for such violations are provided for by both administrative and criminal legislation.
