The head of the State Commission for Mineral Resources, Serhiy Payuk, and his family have significantly increased their wealth over the three years of the war, while the origin of part of the proceeds remains unclear.
According to declarations and open data, in 2022, Payuk's total salary at the state-owned enterprise "Nadra Ukrainy" and at the State Commission amounted to almost 2.5 million UAH, his wife, an employee of "Ukrgazvydobuvannya", received about 700 thousand UAH. In the same year, the family declared over 190 thousand USD in cash and about 0.5 million UAH in bank accounts.
In 2023, Payuk's earnings increased to UAH 3.3 million, and in 2024 - to UAH 5 million. In 2024, his wife declared UAH 829 thousand in income, including bonuses from the union; also in 2024, the family replenished cash savings with more than USD 50 thousand in the wife's name.
The key detail is that in 2025, Serhiy Payuk began receiving transfers from the European Commission (according to sources, from Belgium). The State Commission did not provide any official explanations regarding the reasons for such payments, which raised questions about the origin of part of the official's income.
As a result, in three years (2022–2025), the official income of the Payuk family increased approximately threefold. There is no clear explanation of the sources of new income - this arouses public interest and calls for a transparent explanation from the official or agency.
