Former First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Company "Nadra Ukrainy" Iryna Boyko found herself at the center of a scandal due to an alleged conflict of interest and assistance to a private company in a dispute with the state. According to journalists, while working in a state structure, the official actually sided with private business, and also employed her husband in the same company.
According to data from Boyko's declaration, in 2022 she received over 2 million hryvnias in fees from Nadra Ukrainy, while her husband Serhiy Boyko also had income from the same company. This situation may indicate a violation of the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption", which prohibits state officials from making decisions that may be related to close persons.
The scandal surrounding Iryna Boyko escalated after the publication of a journalistic investigation by Glavkom. According to the materials, Nadra Ukrainy NJSC sided with the private Dzherelo Yednanniya LLC in a lawsuit against the Prosecutor General's Office. This company purchased a property complex in Morshyn with an area of over 700 square meters from a state-owned company several years ago for only 1 million hryvnias.
The prosecutor's office insists that the deal was unprofitable for the state and should be canceled, but the management of Nadra Ukrainy, led by Iryna Boyko, unexpectedly supported the private buyer. This position raised questions about the official's possible lobbying of private business interests.
Currently, the relevant facts are being verified by anti-corruption authorities, and experts see signs of a conflict of interest and a violation of the ethical norms of civil service in Boyko's actions.
