The Uzhhorod City District Court of the Transcarpathian region has removed Oksana Yezerska, head of the Western Interregional Department of the State Labor Service, from her position. The official is suspected of receiving a large amount of illegal benefit. The court also set her a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 242 thousand hryvnias. The relevant rulings have been published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
As noted in the case materials, the criminal proceedings were registered by the State Bureau of Investigation back in January 2025, but the notice of suspicion was served on Oksana Yezerska on December 22. Her actions are qualified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the head of the interregional department of the State Labor Service organized a scheme to receive bribes from business entities. This involved granting permits for performing high-risk work and operating appropriate equipment, conducting expert examinations, technical supervision and expertise of technological processes. Separately, investigators point to receiving illegal benefits for not holding employers who used the labor of unregistered workers accountable.
Court documents state that the amount of the improper benefit depended on the nature of the facilities, type of services, and possible penalties and ranged from $2,000 to $10,000.
On December 24, the court granted the motion of the SBI investigator and suspended Oksana Yezerska from her position for the duration of the pre-trial investigation - until February 22, 2026. In addition, the court chose a preventive measure for her in the form of bail and imposed an arrest on the property seized during the searches, in particular the iPhone 16 Pro Max mobile phone and official documents.
The case materials also state that the suspect and her defense attorney consider the suspicion unfounded.
The Western Interregional Department of the State Labor Service of Ukraine exercises its powers in the territories of Volyn, Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Rivne regions. Oksana Yezerska has headed this department for the past five years.
