Church holiday: Cosmas and Damian - free healers
On July 1, according to the new church style, believers honor the memory of the silver-free saints Cosmas and Damian - brothers-healers who in the 3rd century healed the sick and even animals free of charge, guided only by faith in God. Their self-sacrifice and selflessness became an example of mercy for many generations.
This day was popularly called Kuzminka the Healer, because the saints were attributed with the patronage of doctors, veterinarians and all those who help people and animals recover. Traditionally, on this day, people avoided hard work on the land, did not touch domestic animals and did not arrange loud parties. Instead, the day was considered favorable for prayer, healing and silence.
Three public professional holidays in one day
On July 1, Ukraine celebrates three important professional dates:

State Registrar Day - introduced in 2022, timed to coincide with the day the law "On State Registration of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs" came into force in 2004. It was from this moment that a new era in the state's registration processes began.

Investigation Day was established in 2019 at the initiative of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to mark the important role of investigators in maintaining law and order. The historical basis was the creation in 1963 of a unified investigative service under the Prosecutor's Office of the Ukrainian SSR.

International significance: World Day for the Eradication of Poverty
July 1 is also the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a reminder of the need to overcome social injustice, inequality and extreme poverty. It is an occasion for governments, organizations and society to unite their efforts to create decent conditions for every person.
Folk omens and the date of the New Year
