After September 19, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) will submit to the court an indictment against four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal - Viktor Hlynyany, Ihor Palenyk, Vyacheslav Dzyubin, and Yuriy Slyva - who are suspected of receiving an illegal benefit in the amount of $35,000.
By decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court of July 4, the defense was limited to reviewing the materials of the pre-trial investigation until September 19, 2024 inclusive. After this date, the defense will be considered to have exercised its right to access the case materials.
Case details
NABU and SAPO have exposed four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal for receiving illegal benefits. According to the investigation, judge Vyacheslav Dzyubin received $35,000 for lifting the arrest of two aircraft in the case of former Motor-Sich head Vyacheslav Boguslaev. Of this amount, he kept $10,000 for himself, and distributed the remaining $25,000 between three other judges - Yuriy Slyva, Ihor Palenik and Viktor Hlynian.
Judge Palenik received $25,000 in a whiskey box, of which he gave $8,300 to Judge Sliwa in a coffee package. Judge Glyniany received $8,300 in an advertising brochure for an Internet provider.
During the searches, NABU found $10,000 from Dzyubin, $25,000 from Palenyk, which, according to the investigation, he changed before handing them over to other judges, as well as $8,300 each from Slyva and Hlynyany.
Investigation completed
NABU and SAPO have completed the investigation of this case, and the indictment will be sent to the court after September 19. The defense, which has a limited time to review the investigation materials, must complete its review by that date.
