New details have emerged in the case of the alleged receipt of $320,000 in bribes and embezzlement of funds during the construction of protective structures for military airfields. According to available information, law enforcement officers documented conversations between high-ranking officials on the eve of their detention.
These are the commander of logistics of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Ukrainets , and the head of the SBU department in the Zhytomyr region, Volodymyr Kompanichenko .
According to sources, conversations were recorded during the operations, discussing conducting the “necessary audit”, signing formal acts of completed work and ensuring prompt payment. The recordings allegedly include statements about a willingness to “close the issue” regardless of the actual quality of the shelters constructed.
One of the interlocutors allegedly assured that all the formalities could be settled “in a week,” while another called the financing mechanism “first-grade math.” The investigation views these negotiations as confirmation of coordinated actions to legalize significant budget expenditures through advance payments and formal conclusions from regulatory agencies.
It was the audio recordings that became key evidence during the detentions. Law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation and identifying the full range of individuals involved. Official suspicions and the procedural status of the individuals involved are currently being clarified.
