The Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Organizations (USRE) has resumed operations after a three-week downtime due to a large-scale cyberattack, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported.
From now on, citizens and government institutions can once again use the following important functions of the registry:
- Searching for information in the register is available free of charge;
- Formation of statements – for both individuals and legal entities;
- Obtaining administrative services – using special access codes;
- Interaction with government agencies – through automated systems.
Work has also resumed for the following key government structures:
- State Tax Service;
- State Statistics Service;
- Pension Fund of Ukraine;
- Ministry of Digital Transformation.
Thanks to this, a number of online services have become available again through the “Diya” portal.
How are registries protected?
According to representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the restoration of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the National Information Systems, the Cyber Police, the Cyber Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, and the State Special Communications Service. In addition to restoring access to the registers, attention was focused on strengthening their protection.
"We understand how important access to public services is for citizens and businesses. Therefore, our specialists are working to ensure that similar attacks in the future do not have such consequences," the Ministry of Justice said.
Recall that on December 19, 2024, Ukraine became the victim of one of the most powerful cyberattacks in history. The main target was state registers, which caused the temporary blocking of many services.
Despite the complexity of the situation, social payments for citizens were not disrupted. As noted by the Ministry of Social Policy, payments were made according to the planned schedule.
The Ministry of Justice promises to continue restoring the operation of other registries and improving cyber defense systems. Although attacks by Russian hackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, Ukraine has demonstrated the ability to respond quickly and protect its digital systems.
The resumption of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities was an important step towards the stability and digital security of the country.
