The "Kill Zone" is expanding: what is happening on the front near Pokrovsk

Russian troops continue to press in the Pokrovsky direction, using a new wave of strikes with KAB aerial bombs and drones. This was reported by Taras Myshak, senior communications officer of the 59th separate assault brigade named after Yakov Handziuk, on the air of the Kyiv24 TV channel.

According to him, a brigade unit holds one of the sections in this direction, located between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Russians are using infiltration tactics - advancing in small infantry groups, trying to stealthily approach Ukrainian positions through landings.

Our brigade is not located in Pokrovsk itself, we are in a different area. This is part of the Pokrovsk direction, which is already tangential between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Currently, the Russians are continuing to press in our zone, trying to use infiltration tactics, that is, small infantry groups ,” the officer explained.

He noted that such tactics are not new for the Russian army, but this time the enemy is actively supporting the infantry with aerial bombs and drones. According to Myshak, Russian UAVs are flying deeper and deeper into the Ukrainian rear, which complicates logistics and the delivery of ammunition.

The kill zone, unfortunately, is growing. This significantly complicates the transportation of everything necessary to the positions. Due to the activity of drones, our fighters often have to go to the front lines on foot, because moving by car is too dangerous ,” added the brigade representative.

The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Ukrainian special forces continue to hold their positions in the Pokrovsk area, where fierce fighting is ongoing. In particular, the “Timur Special Forces” unit is conducting an operation in an area important for front-line logistics.
