China welcomes and supports all initiatives aimed at restoring peace in Ukraine and declares its intention to continue cooperation with the international community in seeking political ways to resolve the conflict. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, at a press briefing, commenting on the absence of a Chinese representative at the meeting on the Ukrainian Peace Formula in Davos.
Mao Ning stressed that China is committed to maintaining contact with all parties to the conflict and advocates a constructive role in seeking a political settlement to the crisis. She expressed her belief that China's position on the "Ukraine crisis" is consistent and clear, with the main idea being to resolve the situation through negotiations.
“We welcome and support all efforts aimed at restoring peace in Ukraine,” the diplomat added.
Responding to a question about the possibility of a meeting between Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Davos forum, Mao Ning noted that there is currently no information about this.
