They are trying to close the case of the lawyers of the “Borzych group” through the Supreme Court of Justice.

The news about the too “soft decision” of the Supreme Court of Ukraine regarding one of the defendants in the high-profile case of an attempt to bribe a judge, the lawyer of the “Borzych group” Denis Mykulin, went almost unnoticed. This is reported by the publication 360ua.news.

Thus, on October 28, investigative judge of the High Court of Criminal Appeals Lesya Fedorak decided to apply a preventive measure to lawyer Denys Mykulin in the form of bail in the amount of only 200 thousand hryvnias.

A simple analysis of judicial practice regarding determining the amount of bail in other recent high-profile court cases shows that the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice was biased in favor of the lawyers of the "Borzych group", and they are trying to hushed up the case itself.

Probably, such a loyal decision of the Supreme Court of Ukraine's Criminal Court Judge Lesya Fedorak regarding lawyer Denys Mykulin was dictated by the connections of the "Borzykh group" and the participation of their curator - former Deputy Chief Military Prosecutor Dmytro Borzykh - in the preparation of the draft law on the liquidation of the NABU and the SAPO .

Thus, according to the ZN.UA , Dmytro Borzykh has long-standing ties with the current Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko - both come from the military prosecutorial environment. Dmytro Borzykh has an even closer connection with the Deputy Head of the SBU, Oleksandr Poklad - they are godfathers.

a reminder, two lawyers from the law firm "Garantiya Vaishykh Prav" - Maksym Komarnytskyi and Denys Mykulin - were informed of suspicion in the case of preparing a bribe to a judge for an acquittal in the proceedings on the theft of sand from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia". According to the investigation, the defendants, through their connections in the expert institution, were going to obtain the "necessary" conclusion and, on its basis, determine the amount of illegal gain for the court.

The case is currently being investigated by the NABU and the SAPO, and the investigation into the “Borzych group” case has been ongoing since 2023 and covers interference with the Unified State Register of Court Decisions and influence on judges and their staff. Previously, Komarnytsky was indicted for unauthorized access to the closed part of the register: the investigation says there were over 39 thousand search queries and viewing of 7.5 thousand documents. The main suspects in the “register” episode are Dmytro Borzych, as well as lawyers Andriy Filiuk and Maksym Komarnytsky; the detectives are focusing on six of the company’s twenty employees.
