Valeriy Kharchyshyn, frontman of the band "Druha Rika", spoke openly about his personal life for the first time and confirmed rumors about an affair with TV presenter Yanina Sokolova.
The artist wrote on his Instagram that they were indeed together for a while, but deliberately hid their relationship from the public. According to him, the silence was intended to protect privacy, but over time it led to the spread of rumors and distortion of the meaning of his statements.
“ This is a forced coming out. We deliberately did not publicly announce our relationship with Yanina Sokolova – everyone had their own affairs, and personal lives did not require media attention. But silence breeds gossip, and in the end it began to interfere with professional activities. Yes, for a certain period of my life I was in a relationship with Yanina Sokolova. Currently, this relationship is over ,” wrote Kharchyshyn.
The musician added that he did not want to make such statements, especially regarding the end of his personal story. That is why, according to him, he "hinted at frankness in his lyrics," in particular in the song "I'm Leaving Home," which he considers the final chord of this novel.
Rumors about the romance between Kharchyshyn and Sokolova appeared back in 2022, when both were going through a divorce. Yanina later starred in the video for the band "Druha Rika", where she played the lover of the band leader, which only intensified the talk about their romance. However, the couple did not officially confirm the relationship at the time.
How long this relationship lasted and for what reasons it ended remains unknown. At the same time, Kharchyshyn emphasized that his statement should put an end to speculation surrounding his personal life and protect him from further manipulation.
