A real digital drama unfolded on Ukrainian presenter Volodymyr Ostapchuk's Instagram page last night. Suspicious posts about the showman's alleged divorce from blogger Kateryna Poplavskaya turned out to be the result of a hacker attack. The presenter's wife reported this on her social media.
Kateryna woke up in the middle of the night to feed her baby, and that's when she saw unusual activity on her husband's account. At first she thought it was Volodymyr himself, but he was sleeping peacefully next to her.
Later it became clear that the page had been hacked.
" Vova's Instagram was hacked. More precisely, I don't know what to call it. He didn't have two-factor authentication, that is, a person who could pick up the password could log in ," Poplavskaya explained.
The hackers acted purposefully:
-
published posts about the couple's alleged divorce;
-
spread insulting statements against Kateryna;
-
deleted joint photos of the couple;
-
wrote them off from each other to create the impression of a real conflict.
According to the blogger, it seems that the attackers' goal is to attack not only the host's reputation, but also the image of his wife.
The family is trying to find out who could have been behind the attack, but there is no official information yet. Volodymyr Ostapchuk's account is still inaccessible - it was probably blocked after suspicious actions or Instagram itself temporarily restricted access.
