Judge of the Cassation Economic Court of the Supreme Court, Tetyana Drobotova, may be hiding information about the citizenship, property, and income of her husband, Anatoly Drobotova, from Ukrainian state authorities. Journalists from the Absolution bureau found out that he has a Russian passport, a car, and real estate in Crimea, and also receives a pension from the aggressor state.
The documents confirm that on April 26, 2014, Anatoly Drobotov, a former politician and acting Prime Minister of Crimea in 1995, received a Russian passport (No. 2014 713866) and a taxpayer identification number. His official address is a house in Simferopol at 3 Okhotnychy Lane, where relatives also live:
-
stepdaughter Iryna Ishchenko, former judge of the Commercial Court of the ARC, dismissed for breach of oath;
-
her husband, Ilya Ishchenko, a former judge of the Central District Court of Simferopol, is now a “justice of the peace” of the occupation court.
In addition, the Supreme Court judge's declarations contain no information about a Mercedes car in Crimea (registration number A371MS92), registered to her husband and insured with the Russian company "Haide".
Despite the age that entitles him to a pension, the judge does not indicate the husband's income in the declarations. However, the documents confirm: Drobotov receives a Russian pension on an MTS Bank card. The account number to which payments are regularly received is also indicated.
Formally, Tetyana Drobotova's declaration only lists her husband's Ukrainian car, a Mercedes ML (registration number AA8004OA). The rest of her property, income, and ties to Russia are kept secret.
This raises serious questions about the integrity of the Supreme Court judge and her ability to rule in the best interests of a state that is being attacked by the country of which her husband is a citizen.
Experts see this not only as a conflict of interest, but also as a risk to national security: Russian financial flows can affect the most sensitive link — Ukrainian justice.
