In Kyiv, a man almost killed his friend with a stool during an argument

In the capital, police detained a man who brutally beat his friend with a stool during a drunken argument. The incident occurred in the Holosiivskyi district. The injured owner of the apartment, a 52-year-old Kyiv resident, was hospitalized by ambulance with multiple injuries, including head injuries.

As reported by the press service of the Metropolitan Police, they were contacted by ambulance doctors who found the victim with serious injuries. The police found out that the tragedy occurred during a feast.

"An old acquaintance from Sumy Oblast was staying at the victim's apartment. While drinking alcohol together, a domestic quarrel broke out between the men, which escalated into a fight. The guest grabbed a wooden stool and hit the host several times in the head. After the victim fell, the attacker continued to beat him until he stopped resisting," the police reported.

Law enforcement officers promptly detained the 51-year-old attacker. He was charged with intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. The man faces up to eight years in prison.

This incident is another reminder of the dangers of alcohol-related conflicts. Police are urging citizens to exercise restraint in such situations, as a rash act can lead to serious criminal consequences.

The investigation is ongoing, and the victim is under medical supervision.
