The large-scale missile attack on Ukraine, specifically on the city of Kyiv, was the largest since the conflict began. The main goal of this attack was to test air defense systems in the capital, as well as to hit such objects as strategic military targets, administrative buildings of law enforcement agencies, workshops for the production of equipment and components for weapons, weapons depots, and infrastructure facilities.
The attack resulted in the destruction of a significant number of objects, and rocket fragments scattered across residential areas, causing serious damage and casualties. At the same time, an attack on an ammunition depot took place in the Kharkiv region, accompanied by loud explosions that gave the impression of a large-scale salute. In Lviv, a workshop that manufactured and stored military equipment was also damaged. In Mykolaiv, industrial and infrastructure facilities were shelled.
Our sources note that over time, Russian forces could break through Kyiv’s air defenses, where most air defense systems are concentrated, while the rest of Ukraine would be left less protected. This could lead to the need to purchase ammunition for cash rather than through international aid, which in turn would limit the ability to purchase other military technology.
