A military man told what needs to be done to improve mobilization

In an interview with Ukrinform, Armed Forces of Ukraine officer Vadym Vasylchuk shared his thoughts on the problems of mobilization and the importance of honesty in the recruitment process to restore trust among potential volunteers.

According to Vadym Vasylchuk, one of the key factors for maintaining citizens' trust is an honest approach to mobilization. The officer noted that in the process of recruiting and distributing conscripts, it is important to avoid situations where a person receives certain promises, but in reality is offered something else - for example, being sent to units that were not planned.

“If we lose the trust of citizens again, we will gain distrust in the entire system,” he emphasized. An honest conversation about the problems that exist in the mobilization process should become a priority for the military and civilians.

The officer also drew attention to the problem of corruption and impunity in the mobilization process, in particular at the level of territorial recruitment centers (TRCs). He indicated that it is necessary to clearly define the legal consequences for violators and convey this to citizens.

“Without punishment for violations, we are sending a signal that it is not important, and this weakens the entire system,” Vasylchuk noted. According to him, society must see real results of the fight against corruption in order to restore trust in military structures.

An important indicator of attitudes towards mobilization is the low level of data updating among those liable for military service. According to Vadym Vasylchuk, less than half of those subject to mobilization have updated their data through available services.

“This clearly shows society's attitude towards mobilization and the need to participate in this process,” he concluded.
