Ukraine has formed sufficient reserves of fuel and lubricants to get through the autumn-winter period. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk during a telethon. According to him, today fuel reserves are at the proper level, which allows balancing the energy system taking into account various resources for electricity generation.
Kolisnyk also noted that the necessary number of generators running on diesel, gasoline or gas have been imported to Ukraine. This will become an additional backup power source for consumers.
"For all these consumer groups, a sufficient level of reserves has been formed today so that prices do not fluctuate during the winter, and we have confidence in the possibility of a stable heating season," he emphasized.
Recall that Ukraine's power system is entering the winter season "with the highest possible level of readiness" as planned repairs at power plants were completed on time. This was confirmed by the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, in an interview with The New York Times.
At the same time, former Ukrenergo head Volodymyr Kudrytskyi expressed concerns about the strategy for ensuring the security of energy supply. He advocated the construction of dozens of small private power plants throughout the country, which, in his opinion, would make the energy system less vulnerable to terrorist attacks from Russia. This proposal, he said, could ensure a more reliable energy supply in times of threat.
