The Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Semen Kryvonos, stated that the persons involved in the Mindych case could have been given information about their possible surveillance by other law enforcement agencies. According to him, NABU is trying to establish the source of the leak of data on the movement of the bureau's official cars and find out how this information got to certain individuals.
Kryvonos emphasized that, according to the investigation, the suspects knew in advance about the operational measures being taken against them. He suggested that the information could have been passed on by officers of one of the law enforcement agencies, and emphasized the need to identify specific individuals and the motives for such actions.
Separately, the NABU director reported on difficulties in obtaining data from the Safe City system. According to him, the bureau did not receive access logs for some vehicles, which may indicate possible interference with the system or use of administrator rights to delete records. NABU noted that they have data on the review of certain vehicles in the internal case materials, but the official response indicates the absence of such reviews in the system.
Previously, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported that participants in the Mindych case may have discussed the issue of improper payments with law enforcement agencies. The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed contacts with the defendants before the announcement of suspicions.
The NABU also announced the discovery of a possible technical means for wiretapping in the apartment of an employee of the bureau who was investigating this case. The management of the detective unit reported that a legal assessment of the circumstances would be given. The head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office suggested that the equipment could have belonged to one of the law enforcement agencies and was installed without proper permission.
Representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine were invited to the relevant meeting of the parliamentary committee, but they did not attend. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement agencies declare their intention to establish all the circumstances of possible information leaks and technical interference.
