MP from the Servant of the People party Yuriy Kisel found himself in the spotlight due to a loud conversation with businessman Oleksandr Kvasov from Kryvyi Rih. The recording, which reached investigators, discussed the supply of coal to state-owned enterprises in the Lviv region.
According to the materials, Kvasov offered services from former coal “inspector” Vitaliy Kropachov, who in 2014–2019 controlled significant flows of coal and is currently under suspicion by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The conversation concerned the organization of fuel supplies for state facilities, in particular thermal power plants and enterprises that ensure the vital activity of the Lviv region. Journalists emphasize that such negotiations take place outside official tenders and state procedures, which raises questions about the transparency and legality of the politician's actions.
This situation highlights how individual officials can solve strategic issues of regional life support during wartime by using contacts with businesses and individuals of dubious reputation. Researchers note that such schemes undermine trust in state institutions and create risks to energy security.
Journalists promise to release even more details from this recording, which may shed light on the MP's relationship with business and influence on government procurement.
