Foreign real estate, expensive cars, and significant cash savings — all of this appears in the declaration of Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleksiy Mazutka for 2024. Of greatest interest is the property registered to his wife Natalya, who, according to the official, lives outside of Ukraine and is a US citizen, the Telegram channel “Unbelievable, but True” writes
According to the declaration, Natalia Mazutka owns two real estate properties abroad: an apartment with an area of 126 sq.m. in Florida (USA), purchased in 2018, and an apartment in Attica (Greece) with an area of 84 sq.m. She also has two cars registered to her - a Mercedes-Benz GLE (2018 model year) and a Toyota Highlander (2023 model year).
In addition, the declaration indicates that the family has cash: 25 thousand US dollars, 6 thousand euros and 830 thousand hryvnias. Of the valuables, Rolex and Patek Philippe watches were declared.
However, as experts point out, the official's wife is not officially engaged in business, does not own any businesses, and does not appear in official US tax databases. This raises questions about the sources of financing for the acquisitions.
Oleksiy Mazutka himself, in his responses to the NACP, noted that his wife is "an independent person, has been living abroad for a long time," and that he does not influence her financial decisions. The National Bank does not comment publicly on the situation.
Anti-corruption control experts remind that such practices — registering expensive property in the name of relatives who formally have no income — are typical for Ukrainian officials and may indicate attempts to avoid declaring the true sources of wealth.
Against the backdrop of a financial crisis, currency restrictions, and war, such cases cause public outrage, especially when it comes to officials responsible for the state's financial policy.
