Last year, 3.1 million court cases were registered in Ukraine, which is slightly more than in 2023. This is reported by Opendatabot , citing data from the State Judicial Administration. The number of criminal cases increased the most, while commercial cases, on the contrary, decreased.
In 2023, courts considered 332 thousand criminal cases, and in 2024 there were already 528 thousand of them - an increase of 1.6 times. Civil cases also increased - from 982 thousand to 1 million (plus 7%).
At the same time, the number of cases in commercial courts decreased by 14%, and in administrative courts by 11%. The number of cases on administrative offenses also decreased by 5%.
What do Ukrainians sue most often about?
The courts considered the largest number of cases in the field of civil law. Among them:

Debts for utilities — 298 thousand cases or 28% of all civil cases;

Loans and credits — 126 thousand (12%);

Divorces — 120 thousand (11.5%).
Among administrative cases, pension issues are leading:

Cases of people dismissed from public service — 151 thousand (33.7%);

Pension insurance — 85 thousand (19%);

Benefits for “Chernobyl survivors” — 22 thousand (5%).
Commercial courts most often consider:

Prescriptive proceedings — 7.3 thousand cases (12%);

Supplies of goods and services — 9.4%;

Energy - 7.6%.
Thus, according to 2024 statistics, Ukrainians most often go to court due to debts, divorces, and pension disputes, and the total number of cases remains consistently high — over three million per year.
