In 2024, Ukrainians concluded 2,762 marriage contracts, which is 7% more than last year. This was reported by the analytical service Opendatabot .
Statistics show that marriage contracts are becoming increasingly popular among Ukrainians. While in 2023, one contract accounted for more than 60 marriages, in 2024 this figure decreased - now one contract is concluded for every 54 marriages.
“2,762 marriage contracts were registered last year. This is 7% more than in 2023. However, this is still a third less than in 2021. On the eve of a full-scale war, Ukrainians concluded a record number of marriage contracts – 4,099,” the report says.
It is also noted that currently there is only 1 marriage contract for every 54 marriages. In 2023, this figure was significantly lower - 1 contract for every 72 marriages.
In 2024, 495,090 deaths were registered in Ukraine, compared to 176,679 births. Kyiv became the leader in terms of birth rate, while the largest number of deaths was recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In addition, Kyiv had the largest number of registered marriages – 20,862, and Kyiv is also the largest city in terms of the number of registered divorces – 4,407.
