The Odessa CCC commented on the incident with a man's attempted self-harm

The Odessa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has published an official comment on the incident that occurred in the premises of the Kyiv District CCC and SP of the city of Odessa and was related to an attempted self-harm by one of the men.

The CCC reported that the citizen was taken to the institution by police officers because he was officially wanted for violating military registration rules. According to the recruiting center, during the check-up, the man did not provide any medical documents confirming his unfitness for military service.

The CCC also noted that the electronic registry of "Oberig" does not contain any information about his deferment from mobilization. While undergoing standard procedures, according to the institution, the man intentionally inflicted bodily harm on himself.

The recruitment center considers such actions as an attempt to avoid conscription and put pressure on officials. The duty service immediately called emergency medical assistance and police officers.

The situation was complicated by the man's aggressive behavior, threatening medical workers and military personnel with a knife, which prevented them from providing him with assistance. Eventually, he was hospitalized.

The Odessa Regional CCC and the Joint Police Department emphasized that no physical coercion or illegal actions were used by the military personnel. According to them, all actions of the military and police were aimed solely at preserving the man's life and health.

The commentary also notes that such actions bear the hallmarks of demonstrative blackmail and attempts to evade a constitutional duty by manipulating public opinion.

The CCC called on citizens to be critical of emotional statements and information disseminated by individuals who are trying to justify violations of the law through public provocations.
