Law enforcement agencies have reported a new suspicion against Olga Prylipko, the deputy head of the Gostomel village military administration. She is accused of involvement in a number of corruption crimes related to the distribution of budget funds intended for compensation for war victims.
According to the investigation, the official acted in collusion with other members of a special commission that was supposed to consider citizens' applications and make decisions on payments for destroyed or damaged housing in the Kyiv region. Investigators found that Prylipko could have organized a scheme to illegally appropriate budget funds intended to help affected residents of the region.
Among the incriminated actions are forgery of official documents, manipulation of commission decisions, and use of official position to obtain illegal benefits. According to preliminary data, decisions on compensation may have been made not in favor of the real victims, but in the interests of third parties.
The investigation is currently investigating the involvement of other members of the commission in the corruption scheme. The criminal case materials are being prepared for submission to court. If the official is proven guilty, she could face a long prison sentence and a ban on holding public office.
