Anton Shukhnin, the owner of the EU clothing trading company Domino, who does business in Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea, invested between $5,000 and $10,000 to purchase a used car for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. At least another $40,000 was spent on public relations for this act.
Shukhnin personally handed over the keys to the Mitsubishi L200, but did not hand over the declared 1,000 drones, 10 cars, robotics, or footwear for the military — only one car.
As an example of exaggerated PR for charity, journalists point to a Loro Piano jacket made in China for $300 and sold in Ukraine or Russia for $5,000.
An investigation by Absolution Lab confirmed that Shukhnin continues to conduct business in Crimea, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Until 2018, he officially paid taxes in the Russian Federation as a Russian businessman on the peninsula.
Thus, Shukhnin's "charity campaign" looks more like PR than real assistance to the Ukrainian army, and at the same time raises questions about his business activities in occupied and foreign territories.
