The Pension Fund of Ukraine has warned citizens about a new wave of fake messages that are actively spreading on social networks and messengers. Posts allegedly from the PFU have appeared on some Telegram channels, claiming that pensioners must submit a special application to "confirm their age" and avoid the alleged possible loss of their pension.
The Fund emphasizes that such information is false and has no legal basis. The procedures related to the appointment or accrual of pensions are strictly regulated by the current legislation of Ukraine. No additional applications, especially to confirm age, are required.
The Pension Fund reminds that changes to the procedure for receiving or suspending pension payments can only be approved by the Verkhovna Rada or the Cabinet of Ministers. Therefore, any messages that appear on the Internet without official confirmation are not reliable.
The Foundation urged Ukrainians not to respond to provocative posts and not to provide personal data to unknown sources, as the spread of such fakes is part of manipulative information campaigns. Such messages can mislead citizens or be used for fraud.
Experts recommend obtaining information exclusively from official sources — the PFU website, the institution's pages on social networks, and government services.
