An explosion occurred in one of the settlements of the Pishchansk territorial community in the Odessa region - a man in a state of intoxication threw a live grenade into his neighbor's yard. The incident was reported by the woman herself, who was in the house with her family at the time of the explosion. Fortunately, no one was injured.
According to police, the attacker and the victim had a long-standing conflict. In the evening, the man, having brought an F-1 grenade from the combat zone, threw it into the neighbor's yard and fled. The explosion damaged the wall of the apartment building and broke the windows. Police officers removed the fragments of the ammunition for examination.
A 42-year-old local resident was detained that same evening. He was charged under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism with the use of an object specially adapted for inflicting bodily harm. He faces up to seven years in prison.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being decided. After the examination is completed, the investigation may additionally reclassify the offender's actions.
