In the first ten months of 2025, the National Police recorded more than 103 thousand applications and reports of domestic violence. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko, reports Channel 24. An alarming figure: 3.7 thousand applications came from minors.
What forms of violence are recorded most often?
The majority of complaints concerned psychological violence — 76.4%.
Another 21.1% were cases of physical violence, and 2.5% were economic violence.
Despite these official statistics, the real scale of the problem is much greater. Some victims do not contact the police - out of fear, psychological dependence, or misunderstanding that they have become victims of domestic violence.
Police response
During this period, law enforcement officers issued over 63,000 urgent restraining orders, which oblige the offender to immediately leave the victim's place of residence.
There are currently over 77,000 people registered with the police as perpetrators of domestic violence.
For rapid response, Ukraine operates:
• 64 sectors to combat domestic violence
• 69 mobile response teams — they respond to calls and provide assistance to victims in crisis situations.
"Domestic violence is not a family matter"
Kateryna Pavlichenko emphasizes that overcoming domestic violence is a shared responsibility of the state, the community, and every person.
Her words resonate especially in a situation where the number of complaints continues to grow:
"Domestic violence is not a family matter. It is a matter of the state, the community, and each of us."
