Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the SBU, reported the suspicion to the head of one of the departments of the law enforcement agency of the Kyiv region, who organized the illegal transfer of a conscript across the border for $15,000.
This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the investigation, the official acted in collusion with other accomplices. He guaranteed a Kyiv resident safe passage to Poland through the Volyn region. The scheme involved delivering the “client” by car to a hotel near the border, and then by motorbike through the forests to the place of illegal crossing of the state border.
However, the escape ended unsuccessfully: Polish law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator and returned him to Ukraine. The operatives quickly managed to identify the organizer of the transaction.
The police officer is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - organizing the illegal smuggling of persons across the state border in a preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 9 years.
