The Industrial District Court of Kharkiv found a local police officer guilty of obstructing mobilization during martial law.
According to the investigation, in August 2024, a police officer came to the clinic where his acquaintance was undergoing a military medical examination (MME). In order to remove the man from there and prevent the medical examination, the police officer told the medical workers that he was detaining him for fraud. By doing so, he illegally disrupted mobilization measures and obstructed the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The accused fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented. The court sentenced him to 5 years in prison, but replaced it with 3 years of probation. In addition, the police officer was deprived of the special rank of "police major" and ordered to pay more than 10 thousand hryvnias for the examination.
This case highlights the seriousness of the responsibility for obstructing mobilization events and demonstrates that even law enforcement officers are not an exception to the law.
