Russia has once again struck a large-scale blow to Ukraine's energy infrastructure. On the night of October 10, the enemy carried out a combined attack with missiles and drones, targeting energy facilities in the Kyiv region. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the enemy strikes left about 28,000 households in the Brovary and Boryspil districts without electricity.
The aim of the attack was to cause a new wave of humanitarian hardship — to leave people without electricity, water, and heat on the eve of the cold period. At the same time, in the capital, due to a local failure in the networks, electricity went out in certain parts of the Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Svyatoshynskyi districts.
Energy services are already working to restore power supply. DTEK reported that crews promptly went to the damage sites and are carrying out repair work.
In the affected communities of Kyiv region, inviolability points are being deployed, where residents can get heat, charge devices, and access communications. Critical and social facilities are being transferred to backup power sources - generators.
Despite another attempt at energy terrorism, Ukrainian energy workers continue to fight for system stability, working around the clock. The authorities are urging citizens to remain calm and be prepared for possible widespread outages in the event of repeated attacks.
