The Russian language is being used against Ukraine as a tool of aggression, and its spread has become one of the pretexts for a full-scale invasion. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, in an interview with the program "Randevu".
According to him, the education system should become an environment that will help Russified citizens return to the Ukrainian language and realize the cause-and-effect relationships between Russia's cultural policy and military aggression.
The minister emphasized that part of society does not draw parallels between the use of the Russian language and missile strikes by the Russian Federation. In his opinion, this indicates problems with the formation of worldview guidelines.
" If people don't correlate the arrival of a rocket with the Russian language, then it has certain problems with cause-and-effect relationships. And this is a matter of education ," said Lisovyi.
He also noted that the responsibility for the language situation in educational institutions lies not only with teachers, but also with local governments that appoint school leaders. In his opinion, the choice of citizens during local elections also affects personnel decisions in the education sector.
The minister drew attention to the fact that Ukrainians are often outraged by the presence of Russian-speaking teachers in schools, but do not always associate this with decisions made by local authorities.
" And this is also a problem with cause-and-effect relationships ," the head of the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized.
